News and Info on the Kustom/Classic Bicycle Scene and Casual Cycling in the Wichita area
I normally wouldn't post something like this but I was talking to someone about it a couple Thursday nights ago who hadn't seen it but I can't remember who it was.
Enjoy...
Erick has created a "pool" on Flickr for Coasters Bicycle Club related photos. You can check it out here. I've also linked to it on this site's Photo Album page.
Last night was our 2nd annual "20 Inch" night at the Pub Pedal. We had a great turn out of 20" and smaller bikes. A few were the riders childhood bikes, some pulled out from collections and others borrowed from friends and neighbors. Several times I heard "these bikes are fun to ride!". I have to agree. I estimate there were close to 30 20" or smaller bikes over the evening.
We even had the surprise of a special guest when Jon from KC was waiting for us at the Shamrock. A veteran of many bike events including multiple Tour De Fats, Jon can now add Wichita's Thursday Night Pub Pedal to the list.
As for the "cheezy commemorative spoke cards"... well ummm... they lived up to the cheezy part. Few were handed out and even fewer stayed in the spokes so if you still had one when you got home you better hang on to it as some day it will be really collectible. View the photos here.
This evening I spotted 2 of the give-away bikes being ridden down the sidewalk. I knew they were the bikes because one w
as the boys and the other the girls and the girls still had streamers. Nice to know they are getting use.
I'm sure that's fine. They'll also need help loading bikes into trucks. I had forgot to post that they are also assembli
ng bikes on Sunday beginning at 1:00pm. I just updated the post.
