Dr. Edward N. Tihen read and took notes from nearly every issue of Wichita's newspapers dating from 1872 to 1982. Dr. Tihen's notes reflect the people, places and events that have shaped Wichita's history.

I generally don't include descriptions with the photos but I do at times try to at least include names. If you'd like to search our huge photo album to find photos of yourself or someone else follow the 4 simple steps here.

I do my best to not post photos that are unflattering (unless intentional) or incriminating to the subject.

I only include first names when tagging photos.

Despite the dreary, dismal weather last week, quite a few did show up for Hallowheelie sporting some pretty cool costumes too. Thanks to Lora for the photos.

More improvements are planned for the east bank of the Arkansas River. The Wichita City Council approved a $2.2 million project Tuesday.

The improvements will take place from the Keeper of the Plains to Douglas Street. The city will add new bike paths, lighting and landscaping.
