Winter projects, anyone?

Anyone remember the spate of small-wheeled bicycles which were a '60s-'70s presence, touted as "portable" or "travelers'" bicycles?
The famous Moulton Stowaway was the delightful fruit of lauded British engineer Sir Alec Moulton, and Brompton and Raleigh, and eventualy practically everyone else, took a turn at the concept.
By the time bell bottoms were gone, so were most of these. Though some variant occasionaly shows up in odd corners, like Hammacher Schlemer.

I have a Tote Bike, if I remember the name correctly, marketed by our venerable Sears, Roebuck and Company. It needs a wheel, I think, and a chain, and dot of this and a dash of that, but shouldn't require much agony to have this curiosity back on the street. The frame is separable in the approximate center via jug-earred thumb screws; hence the claimed portability.

Also to hand are an assortment of the "English lightweights" or "English racers" ...three speeds, in other words... which we secretly pined for when presented our Christmas Schwinn Black Phantoms. Spoiled little ingrates, some of us, in those halcyon days!
