Help make bicycling safer, easier, and more convenient by attending the Wichita Bicycle Master Plan Open House from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st at City Hall. The open house will include a presentation at 6:00 p.m. and opportunities for participants to review and comment on the proposed:

bicycle facility types;
bicycle facility locations;
funding strategies; and
the draft plan document text.

About the Plan
The City of Wichita Bicycle Master Plan will identify and prioritize strategies to provide new and enhanced bicycle facilities and increase both the number and frequency of people bicycling in Wichita. The plan will provide a framework and strategies for improving the connectivity, safety, comfort, and convenience of the bicycle network. Donuts, socializing and riding with like-minded bike nuts, the wind didn't turn out to be all that bad, spotted a few deer, no flats, no breakdowns, lots of colorful cruise-wear. What a nice ride! Thanks to everyone who came out. We had people come from Kingman and Newton to ride. Jeremy had 3 generations of his family riding. 32 bikes, 33 riders, 34 if you count Barkley the beagle. We rode about 10 miles.

What: 2nd annual Pre Swap Garage Ride
When: Saturday 04-21-2012 (The evening before the Midwest Bicycle Swap) 7:30pm
Where: 950 W Grand, Haysville, KS (parking lot between schools)

We'll ride the Haysville bike paths stopping off at a few local bike people's garages.

It'll be dark so lights are strongly encouraged.

This is a casual, leisurely, family ride along Wichita's Canal bike path.
Meet at the Donut Whole 1720 E Douglas. We'll ride at 10:00am sharp!

This time we'll be riding the North half of the Canal path up to Dr Glen Dey (formerly Grove) Park and back. Approximately 10 miles round trip.

This time there is a (optional) dress code: Cruise attire. Wear a colorful, Hawaiian, touristy, flowery type shirt. I'm sure Goodwill has one if you don't.

Come early and have a delicious Donut Whole donut before the ride.
Stay late and have lunch and/or a beverage downtown after the ride.

Please Note: If you'll be hauling your bike to the starting point, do not park in the Donut Whole parking lot. Park at a nearby side street or empty parking lot.

Also FYI... there are a lot of street crossings on this path. Most signaled I believe.
