Patriotic Pub Pedal and New Belgium Brewery Anniversary Party.
Thursday, June 30th is our annual Patriotic Pub Pedal. Decorate yourself and/or your bike with a patriotic theme to celebrate Independence Day.
Instead of meeting at the Shamrock though, meet at the Anchor where we'll join the New Belgium Brewery's anniversary party and ride. This ride starts at 7:00pm so don't be late. After this ride we'll return to the Anchor where they'll have several New Belgium beers on tap.

The Anchor is just East of Washington on Douglas.

Despite it being over 100 degrees there was a good turn out tonight for our 3rd Ladies Night. Quite a few ladies bikes and big burly men riding them. Photos here.

This night is for the Ladies... Ladies bikes that is. Whether your Male or Female ride your girls/ladies/step-thru-frame bikes.

Cross dressing optional.

Participation was pretty good for the first ever Anti-Tweed Ride last night at the Pub Pedal. Tuxedo t-shirt, suits, gowns, dresses and fur. A variety of non tweed formal attire was worn. The men looked dashing and the women stunning. The wind made riding interesting especially for the women in dresses and may also have been the reason there wasn't a larger turn out. Someone looked up the weather and if I recall correctly the wind was 35-40mph with gusts up to 60mph!

Have you heard? Tweed rides are the latest, greatest thing. Cyclists get all dressed up in tweed and go for a ride just like the cyclists of old. Google "tweed ride" and you'll get 168,000 results. It's the latest trend in cycling!
But since when do we follow trends? We start them!

Announcing the first ever Anti-Tweed Ride at the Thursday Night Pub Pedal, April 29th, Shamrock Lounge 1724 W Douglas.
NO TWEED! Anything else goes like wedding gowns, prom dresses, pant suits, leisure suits, seersucker suits, tuxedos. polyester, spandex, leather, fur or whatever non tweed dress-up clothing that makes you look Marvelous.

Think of it as, Funky Formal night or Wear Yer Sunday Go Ta Meet'n Clothes Night or Prom Night. Dress up in you Sunday Best whether it's Fine or Funky just as long as it's not in tweed.
Don't forget the hat!

This could also be considered a charity ride as you'll no doubtingly be turning over some cash to the Goodwill or DAV to find you something appropriate to wear. Wait... you still don't have your prom dress or that leisure suit from the 80s still stashed away in the back of your closet do you?
